Pastor’s Message –

Psalm 119:97-104

Oh, how I love your law! It is my meditation all day long. Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is always with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your decrees are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts. I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. I do not turn away from your ordinances, for you have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.

Those that love the world, spend their time consumed with the things of the world. Those that love the Word, spend their time meditating on the Word. The hypocrisy of the Pharisees was their superficial approach to obeying the externals of the law, but they had no heart to  understand or meditate on the spiritual truths of the law. Enemies present themselves as "know-it-alls"; we have a tremendous advantage over them; we mustn’t give them any respect; the world has a certain shrewdness and street smarts, but it is not beneficial like godly wisdom; we have accepted the personal ownership of God’s commands -- they have been internalized. Our teachers deserve respect; but we must recognize the limitations of man’s wisdom; spiritual things must be spiritually discerned. Holy Spirit is able to impact our hearts with God’s truth in a special and very direct way. To discern God’s way requires time and concentration on our part. We are called on to follow God’s laws and to understand them completely. Do you know or understand what God is saying to us? Do you believe His word? I hope so.

God Bless
