Pastor’s Message –

Acts 2:1-2

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Suddenly, violently. That’s how the gift of God’s Spirit came to us.  No warning, no plan, and no sense of when it was going to come or what it is to do.  We usually don’t like surprises.  We are not accustomed to not being in control.  We want to know what the timetable of events is.  Our comfort zone is knowing before it happens.  God didn’t let us know anything about this gift.  He just brought it on, but He didn’t do it in private, one on one; He did it in a group.  He wanted us ALL to realize what He is doing, but there is no timetable!  He is working through all of us.  He wants us to be disciples, to evangelize and grow His Church, and to do what He has planned for us in His time.  If we realize what God wants us to do through the Holy Spirit, life, as we know it, will never be the same again.  So remember God’s gift of the Holy Spirit is given to you suddenly and violently because God wants to take us out of our comfort zone and let us know that when He moves everything will change.  So are you prepared for the Holy Spirit?

God Bless

The Excitement of Growth.  Sunday morning we all experienced the growth of our churches.  At Williams, Sam Armstrong accepted Jesus into his life as he was confirmed and became a member of Williams UMC.  This wonderful occasion was continued at Antioch as Robyn Fowler was also confirmed and became a member of Antioch UMC.  In addition to these new members Wayne and Betsy Hendricks reaffirmed their acceptance of Jesus Christ and their membership in Antioch UMC.  This was a blessed event at both churches and we pray that there will be more who would like to join or reaffirm their acceptance of Jesus and their membership in His church.

Note:  Each of these members has recently completed our confirmation course.

Sunday School is available each Sunday morning.  There is a class for every age so please plan on joining us to learn more about our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Sunday School at Williams begins at 10:45 AM

And coffee and drinks are served before classes begin. Classes begin at Antioch at 10:00 AM.

The Methodist Way

The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by PROCLAIMING the good news of God’s grace and by exemplifying Jesus command to love God and neighbor, thus seeking the fulfillment of God’s reign and realm in the world. God has used our Church to save persons, heal relationships, transform social structures, and spread scriptural holiness, thereby changing the world.

At Home In Mitford
The First Novel in the Beloved Mitford Series

It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable.

Yet, Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge. Now stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's sixty years old.

Suddenly, Father Tim gets more than he bargained for. And readers get a rich comedy in which mysteries and miracles abound.

Remember:

Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors!

Have a blessed week
