On our walk………                     February 25, 2007

This is the first of what I hope will be an ongoing outreach to all in our church community.  I would like to begin sending e-mails to anyone who would like to receive them concerning happenings in our church.  Should you wish not to receive any further e-mails, simply send me a note to that effect and I will remove your name from my list.  If you know of anyone else who would like to be added to the recipient list, please send me their e-mail address.

Pastor’s Message –

Philippians 3: 20-21   But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.  He will transform the body of our humiliation that it may be conformed to the body f his glory, by the power that also enables him to make all things subject to himself.

The Lord has come, he has risen and he has forgiven.  During this Lenten Season, let us remember that our citizenship is in heaven and that by his glory we will be transformed to be like him.  So spend this season repenting, fasting and sacrificing as we prepare ourselves to be transformed into Christ-like people.  Do all of this with prayer and praise and remember Him who suffered so much for us.

Today – Sunday, February 25, 2007 – Services Cancelled

This morning your pastor stepped outside and found sleet falling and the entire back deck of the parsonage covered with ice.  Out of concern for all of my parishioners, especially those who are no longer so sure footed, I called the leaders of the church to discuss the issue.  We decided that it was better to err on the side of safety than to risk injury to anyone.  Therefore, we cancelled services for the day.  I really missed the joy of bringing services to you this morning.  I missed the joy of continued praise and worship of our Lord.

Ash Wednesday –

On Ash Wednesday, we held a special service.  I hope all who were able to attend were touched by solemnity of the service and that each of you has been able to carry forward your desire to seek God’s forgiveness during this Lenten Season.

It was a joy to have so many people give of their time and themselves to be present for this special beginning to Lent.   For those of you who were unable to be present, remember that Lent is a time of sacrifice, fasting and repentance and I ask that you spend this season seeking God’s forgiveness.
