Antioch, Kenbridge and Williams United Methodist Churches joined with St. Paul’s and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in an Operation Sharehouse packaging event. Operation Sharehouse is a non-profit, volunteer-based program of Stop Hunger Now, an international hunger and relief organization based in Raleigh, NC that provides high-protein, dehydrated meals for use around the globe at the cost of $.20 a meal. Together the churches raised over $1000 enabling them to package over 7,000 meals that will be used in school feeding programs and orphanages around the world. The mission was a celebration of the new relationship of Interim Eucharistic Sharing between The Episcopal and United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lee Wilkinson Warren, Virginia Director of Stop Hunger Now, led the most successful event. For information on how your church or civic group can participate in packaging life-saving food for the world’s hungry, contact Rev. Warren at (434) 447-2568, l.warren@stophungernow.org or visit the web page, www.stophungernow.org.
