Children Many thanks to those of you who have stepped
forward to create twin-sized quilts for children and youth in foster care. Joy needs

former pastor! Outreach
Opportunities! · Today, we are focusing our monthly outreach
service on the call of Jesus to feed the hungry and will be talking about
the drought and famine occurring now in the Horn of Africa (Somalia, Kenya,
and Ethiopia). Come prepared to grow
in your understanding of our call to care for the hungry and to give to the
work of the United Methodist Committee on Relief in the Horn of Africa! · A one day trip to the Glouchester
area to assist in repair to homes has been scheduled for August 27th. Are
you interested in assisting your fellow Virginians in restoring normalcy to
their lives after the tornadoes? Houses are ready for repair and are in
need of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled helpers. If interested,
talk with Brenda Barnes. · Throughout the rest of the summer, the Southside
Gleaning Network will be in the fields gleaning food for the hungry in our
community. We only receive notice a
day or two in advance, so if you
are interested in being notified when a gleaning opportunity arises, talk
