Inviting you to daily time with God

Each day, the Transformation Journal will offer you a scripture passage and a question or two for reflection relating to the topic of each week’s sermon.
The prayer list is also on the back, so please take time to pray for those we have lifted up on Sunday.

Sunday, July 26th

Re-read today’s scripture passage (Ephesians 3:14-21).  This prayer talks a lot about love—both knowing God’s love and being rooted and grounded in that love.
Is your life rooted and grounded in God’s love?  How does being rooted and grounded in God’s love impact you?

Monday, July 27th
Read 2 Corinthians 4:7-18.  Paul talks about the idea that despite our troubles, we are being renewed every day (verse 16).  What is troubling you today?
How is God working to renew you even in the face of these troubles?

Tuesday, July 28th
Read Romans 12:1-2.  In this passage, Paul encourages us not to conform to the world around us but to be transformed.
What are some ways that you are tempted to conform to the world and be drawn away from God?  How can you be transformed?

Wednesday, July 29th
Read John 15:1-11.  In this passage, Jesus talks about the importance of abiding in him.  Abiding in Christ leads to ‘fruit’ in our lives.
Have you seen this fruit in your life?  Do you feel that you are abiding in Christ?

Thursday, July 30th
Read Luke 11:1-13.  In this passage, Jesus is teaching his disciples how to pray.  As you read the passage, what are you learning about prayer?
How can this help you in your times of prayer?

Friday, July 31st
Read Luke 18:9-14.  Who do you identify with more in this story, the Pharisee or the tax collector?  Jesus said that the tax collector went away justified.
What did he do that put him right before God?  How can you be like the tax collector?

Saturday, August 1st
Read Romans 8:26-39.  How do you feel knowing that the Spirit intercedes for us when we do not know what to pray (verse 26)?
Write your reflections on verses 38-39 as well!
